In this article I describe the construction of the mechanics of my self designed, computer controlled milling machine.
Here I describe the construction of my self developed CNC control for controlling my milling machine (part 1 of 2).
Tesla coils are very fascinating, because you can easily create lightnings with it. Originally, this coil was designed by Nikola Tesla to transmit energy wirelessly. However, since the whole thing did not work as expected, Tesla coils are now used for demonstration purposes only. Anyway, that was enough for me to decide to build a Tesla coil for myself.
I came across this more than 100 years old invention by research for the construction of my Tesla coil. The turbine, also invented by Nikola Tesla, is praised in so many places on the Internet. That was reason enough for me to build such a turbine by myself.
Some time ago I came across the principle of a Bismuth Levitator and of course I was immediately enthusiastic. Of course, I wanted to build my own levitator. As far as I know it is the only way to let an object levitate permanently without putting energy into it in form of electricity, cooling, etc.
Since I did not really like the first version of my Bismuth Levitator, I designed and built a new version of it.
The reason for this project was the fact that I had to create a static electrical DC field. For this I needed a high DC voltage (my aim was about 10 kV). But why not just buy a high-voltage transformer? The problem was that it shouldn't be lethal if you touch the contacts.
At the end of my studies of Electrical Engineering I had to search for a suitable topic for my Bachelor's Thesis. Then one day I saw the perfect topic on a chair's website: "Development and construction of a microcontroller board test device".
Who doesn't know that: you wake up in the morning and must open your drapes or roller blinds so that light comes into the room. Day by day. I was disturbed of this fact anyway. In my opinion you should automate those annoying things. The best thing would be, when roller blinds automatically rise at a certain time, so that it is easier to stand up from bed. And in the evening it would be great if they go down automatically.
